The BBC have recently released a podcast on how mould and indoor air pollutants can be a serious health hazard.
At JPEC, we are already helping to prevent these hazards to our health by providing mould prevention and ventilation services. Tandridge Council are among our clients for these services along with others. Proper airflow through your home can help prevent damp taking hold and the formation of mould. Simple things like ensuring cupboards and wardrobes are pulled slightly away from the wall, having space to let air circulate in and around clothes, opening windows after a shower or cooking to let the moisture escape, putting lids on pans when cooking and keeping your home warm all help prevent mould getting started. We’ve been installing humidistat fans, condensation control vents (CCV’s) and Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) system, which provide fresh filtered air into a building whilst retaining most of the energy that has already been used in heating the building. All of these will help prevent mould and keep the air clean if installed and used correctly.
If you need help getting rid of mould and making sure it can’t return, give JPEC a call and one of our friendly team will let you know how we can help.
