JPEC recently welcomed the news that the UK government is scrapping the obligation for households to obtain planning permission for the installation of a new heat pump which forms part of the government’s Warm Homes Plan.
The change is part of the government’s Warm Homes Plan which aims to give 300,000 households upgrades to improve their energy efficiency and lower bills.
This consists of JPEC Group applying for a boiler upgrade scheme (BUS) on the customers behalf.
So…. What is the boiler upgrade scheme? (BUS)
The UK government is offering up to £7,500 to help people switch from old, polluting boilers (like gas or oil) to cleaner, energy-efficient air source heat pumps. This is part of a scheme called the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (often shortened to “BUS”).
And……What is an Air Source Heat Pump?
Think of a heat pump like a reverse fridge – instead of making things cold, it pulls heat from the air outside or the ground (ground source) and uses it to warm your home and your hot water. It runs on electricity and is much more energy-efficient and better for the environment than a gas boiler.
