ISSUE

In 2007, MPS Housing and Orbit Housing were looking for a partner to work with them, looking after their care homes and housing properties electrical services. They wanted a company who could work across London and South East England, carrying out maintenance work, defect repairs and inspection and testing to keep them compliant. They wanted a company who would be capable of looking after over 1800 properties and who would work with them to manage the costs. A Company who would was in it for the long haul, not a “here today gone tomorrow” company, someone who could not only keep them compliant, but who would be able to innovate and work towards carbon reduction and lowering operating costs.


SOLUTION

What they found was a young company with a growing reputation for delivering on their promises. They found a company who could not only deliver all electrical services, inspection and testing and defect maintenance but a company who could work with their online portal and who would take the lead in tenant liaison. They found a company who could do heating and boilers, fire risk assessments and smoke detectors. They found a company who would work to minimise “No Access” properties and would take the lead on tenant relations management. A Company who could complete all the reporting requirements MPS & Orbit Housing had. They found a “one-stop-shop”. What they found was JPEC Group.


OUTCOME

Over the last 15 years and counting, JPEC Group have repeatedly delivered on their promises. They have carried out all inspection and testing, fault rectification and emergency callouts without ever giving MPS & Orbit Housing a reason to question their decision to bring JPEC Group in as a trusted supply chain partner. Over the course of the last decade and a half, JPEC have kept the properties compliant while at the same time helping to reduce the carbon footprint and bring the running costs down. By exchanging boilers to more energy efficient units, replacing incandescent lighting with LED lamps, fitting underfloor heating and fitting smart smoke detectors to reduce the need for technicians to need access, JPEC have reduced running costs and reduced the need to access properties.

JPEC Group have dedicated members of staff who ensure the tenants are aware of any work needed and appointments are booked. A text message service reminds the tenants the day before the appointment and simple things like not calling from a withheld number all help make the work run smoothly. All of the work is reported and updated on the on-line portal system so live tracking of jobs is possible.
